Use this calculator to estimate your Monthly Tax Deduction (PCB/MTD) for the month from your salary, EPF, zakat, family status and any TP1 reliefs your employer has approved.
PCB is the income tax your employer withholds from your monthly salary and pays to HASiL (the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia). This tool is an estimate for early checks and planning — it is not an official payroll or tax determination, and the real amount can change with your full details, current-year data and HASiL’s rules.

For the best result, enter your real EPF, zakat and year-to-date (YTD) figures from your payroll or TP3 where available.
Enter this month’s bonus, overtime, commission, irregular allowance or other taxable additional pay.
Auto-filled from the EPF schedule for a standard employee profile. You can still change it if your payslip differs.
If zakat is paid through salary deduction or another permitted monthly rebate.
Current estimate: RM 0.00.
Enter children under 18 or ordinary eligible children. Use the advanced section for tertiary/disabled children.
Common examples: an exempt meal allowance, an exempt childcare allowance, or another valid exempt benefit.
Enter the current-month amount and the amount accumulated before this month only for items your employer has already approved through TP1.
Important note
This calculation is an estimate for education and early planning only. Actual results can differ according to your inputs, current policies, official documents, contracts, rates, charges and the methods used by the relevant provider. Check with the official authority or institution before making a financial decision.
PCB and tax estimates can change according to tax status, reliefs, rebates, annual income, bonuses, TP1 submissions and actual e-Filing information. Check with HASiL or a qualified tax adviser when necessary.
Reference basis
Monthly tax deduction computed under the HASiL PCB specification for the active tax year. The English route shares that engine with the Malay calculator; only presentation differs.
Key assumptions
Shared engine
Identical computation to /tools/kalkulator-pendapatan/kalkulator-pcb. The tax bands, reliefs and rebate live there.
An estimate, not an assessment
PCB is a monthly instalment against an annual liability. The final position is settled on assessment, and family status, children, EPF, zakat, TP1 reliefs and year-to-date history all move the monthly figure.

This result is an estimate, not an official figure.
DuitMap is not affiliated with HASiL/LHDN and this calculator is not LHDN-approved. It does not replace your employer’s payroll, e-CP39/e-PCB or an official assessment. For final figures, verify against your payslip and HASiL’s official MTD calculation specification.
Suppose a tax resident earns a gross salary of RM5,000 in January, contributes RM550 to EPF (11%), pays no zakat that month, is single with no children, and has no additional remuneration or TP1 reliefs. The calculator subtracts EPF from gross pay, annualises the taxable income, applies the self relief and the 2026 tax bands, then spreads the estimated annual tax across the remaining months to produce this month’s PCB. Enter these figures above to see the estimate and the full breakdown.
Two employees on the same RM5,000 salary can still see different PCB because family status, children, EPF amount, zakat, TP1 reliefs and year-to-date history all feed the formula.
Normal remuneration is your regular monthly salary and fixed allowances. Additional remuneration covers irregular taxable pay such as a bonus, overtime or commission, which is assessed with a separate formula and can push PCB higher in the month it is paid. Year-to-date (YTD) payroll data — taxable income, EPF, PCB and zakat already recorded earlier in the year (including from a previous employer via TP3) — lets the estimate account for what has already been deducted.
The calculator follows HASiL’s computerised method for common scenarios. Some special cases are intentionally left out because they need extra verification.
Trust & sources
This calculator follows HASiL’s current computerised calculation method for supported scenarios. It is an estimate for education and early planning — not an official payroll or tax determination. Always confirm final figures with your employer payroll or HASiL.

Short answers on PCB, how it is estimated and what it means for take-home pay.
PCB (Potongan Cukai Bulanan), known in English as Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD), is income tax deducted from your salary each month by your employer and paid to HASiL as instalments toward your annual tax.
It follows HASiL’s current computerised calculation method for supported scenarios, so it is a close estimate. Your actual payslip can still differ because of year-to-date data, employer rounding, benefits-in-kind or reliefs the calculator does not model. It is not an official payroll determination.
PCB can change when your taxable pay changes — for example a bonus, overtime, commission, a zakat change, updated TP1 reliefs or newly entered year-to-date data from a previous employer.
Yes. Monthly zakat paid through salary is treated as a rebate against the current-month PCB following HASiL’s calculation order, so it can lower the PCB payable.
Not necessarily. PCB is a monthly instalment. Your final annual tax is confirmed through e-Filing once all income, reliefs and rebates are assessed, which can leave a refund or a small balance payable.
