Completely Knocked-Down. The vehicle arrives as components or as a kit and is assembled in Malaysia, as opposed to CBU — Completely Built-Up — which is imported already assembled.
Not necessarily. DuitMap keeps CKD records separate from a looser "local" category so that assembly terminology is not used casually. This page lists only variants explicitly recorded as CKD in the database.
No. The price you pay still depends on specification, taxes, incentives, exchange rates, dealer margin, warranty package and on-the-road costs. CKD status on its own guarantees nothing about price.
The MITI announcement effective 2026-07-01 set those two conditions for newly imported CBU electric vehicles under the franchise AP policy. It did not impose the same conditions on CKD vehicles. CIF is the landed cost before duties, taxes and margin — not the retail or on-the-road price.
Not necessarily. Assembly status, order books, stock and delivery dates vary by variant and by dealer. Confirm that the unit being offered to you is genuinely a CKD unit before paying a deposit.
